FAQ: Ordering, Payment and Protecting Your Privacy

Matrix Genomics protects your personal genetic information with the utmost privacy and confidentiality.
How does the ordering process work?
How do you keep my results private? Show/Hide»
We don't give the results to anyone except you, and you don't even have to give us your real name. After you give us your DNA and contact information, we genotype and analyze the genes of interest and write you a report. After we notify you that your report is ready, we store it under the code used to send your DNA to the laboratory which serves as your unique identifier. It is stored on a secure computer not linked to any other network or device. Later, if you want another copy of the report, we will need the code we gave you in order to locate it for you. Your DNA sample is destroyed as soon as it is processed. Furthermore, recent federal legislation (Public Law #110-233) protects the individual from discrimination in employment and health insurance coverage based on their genetic endowment.
